We're on the eve of a complex winter weather event in Texas and Oklahoma. Will it be rain? Freezing rain? Sleet? Mix of everything? No one seems to know. Prior to events like this that tend to intersect large metro areas, NWS offices put out CYA graphics. It's easy to know when they really just aren't sure because they will tell you just how hard their job is. Now I'm not making fun of the "cover your ass" approach. I just think it's worth pointing out.
What is freezing rain & why is it hard to forecast? Only a few degrees make the difference! #okwx #texomawx pic.twitter.com/oZ3xJ36NYj— NWS Norman (@NWSNorman) January 2, 2015
