For those of you considering the migration of your blog to blogger beta, it appears to be safe.
From here in beta-land things are not a lot different though. The dashboard is a little cooler in that it has a lot of selections that can be made without having to enter the editor screen. Also, you can change templates easier and more frequently which should be mildly annoying for those who can’t leave shit alone.
The outcome though is not a lot different looking – yet. Google promises lots of additional changes. We’ll see what happens.
One of the integrations that is entirely too easy to apply to the blog in beta is the Google AdSense module which prompted the title of this here entry.
Yes, I sold out. I figure since republicans will no longer be in control, I had better start planning ahead for economic changes by using my blog to make money. Just kidding, of course… maybe…
So far I have clicked refresh 191,539 times and it still shows a generic ad for hurricane relief at the top of my page. For those of you who know me, you know I hate any organization who begs for money but is not a 501(c)3 not-for-profit. That ad is for a non 501(c)3 company who is begging for money. My AdSense experience is not getting off to a good start. I’ll leave it up for a few days though and see what happens.
For those of you who are bored, please feel free to click the hell out of it and make steve some flip!
In other news, two storm chase related blogs have announced their demise.
One is because the people he created the blog to try to piss off (Weathervine) have not responded to his repeated slander so there is really no reason for him to keep a blog going. His drunken posts were quite entertaining; I’ll miss them. A screencap is forthcoming. It’s worth the wait, trust me. I predict he will return to the blogging world as well – probably this time to try to piss me off for mentioning his blog in my blog. Will there be legal fallout? Stay tuned.
In the other case the author is simply blogged out and with the off season in full swing now, I predict he will be back come March.
