Oklahoma Centennial

Tonight marks the opening of a years-worth of celebrating for the State of Oklahoma’s 100th birthday. Smaller events leading up to tonight have been going on since Thursday, including fireworks displays both evenings. I took the picture above last night.
The Tulsa World says tonight is supposed to be “absolutely amazing” with a laser light show, historic images projected on the sides of downtown buildings, and what everyone is saying is the biggest fireworks display ever in the state of Oklahoma. Fireworks are supposed to be shooting from the roofs of five skyscrapers so I imagine the booms will make quite an echo between buildings.

I hope the state doesn’t disappoint tonight, given all the fanfare.
