How To Completely Disrupt A Hashtag During A Severe Weather Event

Bots had been an issue on state-level Twitter hashtags for a while but they seemed to disappear with time. I see great value in bots but they should be designed to be followed and used for the purpose for which they’re designed. They should not push into a separate space; a space sometimes utilized for newsgathering or sharing of pertinent, time-sensitive information. 

Here’s an example of a bot populating (read: spamming) the #newx and #kswx feed this evening:

Again, I see the purpose for bots but 99 percent of the time, hashtagging the output text is a bad idea.
