Hi.

A Look at First Tweets in Weather

Last week Twitter created the ability to go back in time and easily view anyone’s first tweet ever. Of course my first stop was my own Twitter where, to no surprise, I tweeted to promote something I was working on at the time:

This got me curious about what other people/companies tweeted for their inaugural stab at 140 characters of brilliance.

WDT was writing cryptically about something they were doing for the Orange Bowl…

AccuWeather apparently had a 10am meeting worth noting…

image

ImpactWeather was making it official…

image

WeatherCentral was ramping (BTW, happy first tweet anniversary)…

image

WeatherNews rocked their first tweet with a picture. They were late bloomers though - Feb 2013?

Weather Underground was already trying to figure out how to integrate with Twitter upon their first post…

image

WSI was concerned about chapped hands at NAB…

image

ChaserTV was doing what ChaserTV does - Getting ready to stream…

image

SevereStudios was still relevant…

image

NOAA’s first tweet was actually a retweet - how original…

image

NWS Norman was informative as always…

image

Tulsa NWS was not quite so informative…

image

Then there was TWC who immediately tried to sell us on themselves…

No idea what the hell WeatherNation was going for here…

… And then there is the one we all are actually most interested in:
